I've started making flames in December (last month). I have not done much else ever since (I get obsessed like that) . I understood it quite quickly since I know (somewhat) what fractals are, and tutorials on here made the learning curve much smoother. I also have experience in 3D software and Photoshop, which helps a lot.
Hey, thanks! Falloff is really quite easy and gives you a nice (fake) dof effect in Chaotica. My settings are usually the same (depending on what I see)... Put post_falloff2 on 1 in your final transform, then adjust scatter (here it's 3), and min_distance to about 0.75 (1 is the outer edge of the screen, 0 is from the center of the screen). That's it really!
